The possible analysis I could make to balance cost-benefits is to think if that Super Cool camera is worthy and needed, because in the future I'm probably going to need the gift card for another and more useful artefact. So, stopping my desires now, could make able to satisfy a necessity tomorrow.

Well, if you want that "Super Cool" camera, you're going to buy it eventually anyway, right? So, either use the gift card towards it, or use your own money and use the gift card towards something you may possibly want in the future. Personally, I'd get the camera now with it and save your money for a later purchase. XD
