-2x^a ( -4x^b -2x^3 + 5x)

We need to distribute the term on the left to each term inside the parentheses

-2x^a * -4x^b -2x^a ( -2x^3) -2x^a *5x

8x^a *x^b +4x^a*x^3 -10x^a *x

Since the bases are the same and we are multiplying, we can add the exponents

8x^(a+b) + 4 x^(a+3) -10 x^(a+1)

Find the product.-2xa(-4xb - 2x 3 + 5x)-example-1
