Let's firstly consider the number of ways in which you can pick two people from 23 people: 23C2

Now, how many ways can we choose 2 Republicans? Well, we have 7 Republicans and we want to choose 2 of them: 7C2

Therefore, P(2 Republicans) =
(^(7)C_2)/(^(23)C_2)

Correct me if I'm wrong, haven't done permutations and combinations in a while.
