Since they are similar triangles, the ratio for each side in correspondence to the triangles must remain the same.

Let's take the hypotenuse for each triangle.


(13)/(39) = (1)/(3)

These are known as the corresponding sides of similar triangles and the ratio 1:3 is the scale factor of the small to big triangle.
