Which group do you suppose the author has more sympathy for? why? the outsiders

The greasers. He writes from their point of view and makes them out to be sort of like the "good guys". He writes out the socs as stuck up and looking for trouble, mostly, though.

The greasers because it is in their point of view where you see how they feel and get a closer picture on how they live and what they go through. Hilton does give sympathy for the socs when she writes the scene where Randy is depressed over Bob dying but it's not as much sympathy as she gives to the greasers due to which one she describes more and which struggles she emphasizes the most on.
