Hi again

a² - 8a + 12 = 0
Factor left side
(a - 2)(a - 6) = 0
Now we should set factors equal to 0
a - 2 = 0 or a - 6 = 0
a = 0 + 2 0r a = 0 + 6
a = 2 or a = 6

Answer : A = 2 or a = 6 >>> (2,6)

a^2-8a+12=0 (this is of the form ax^2+bx+c)

find jk=ac=12 and j+k=b=-8, then j and k must be -2 and -6

now replace -8a with -2a and -6a

a^2-2a-6a+12=0 now factor 1st and 2nd pair of terms...

a(a-2)-6(a-2)=0 which is equal to

(a-6)(a-2)=0

So a=(2, 6)
