B. the easiest way to figure this for me is to figure the volume of the box as a whole so 6x2x3 (36) minus the volume of the space in between 2x2x2 (8)

36 - 8 = 28ft^3

28 Cut it into different sections. The top portion is 12 ( 2x6x1) and then the bottom sides which are each 8 (2x2x2) 12 + 16 = 28
