I think it's optimistic because he's saying to take the country back.

Answer:

D. optimistic.

Step-by-step explanation:

At the end of Hughes's "Let America Be America Again", we can see that the narrator is hopeful about having America of freedom and prosperity for all people, regardless of color, money, social status, among other things.

Throughout the poem, the narrator states that America is not for him or for those less favored by society, America is only America for the whites and the rich while blacks, the poor and the Indians live in misery, but they work to enrich this nation. At the end of the poem, the narrator says that America is not the right place for her, but soon he says he hopes that America will be wonderful for everyone.

At this point, the narrator gives a hopeful tone that things will get better and he and all the disadvantaged will enjoy the freedom and wealth that people always say America has.
