Given the following functions f(x) and g(x), solve f/g(−3) and select the correct answer below:

f(x) = 6x + 8

g(x) = x − 2

Answers:
A.) −2
B.) −negative one half
C.)one half
D.)2
I took this test a long time ago but can't remember how I got the answer. The answer I got was D. Can you tell me how to solve?

So you have to solve f / g times -3

Well, it's telling you -3=x so now the equation is f(-3) divided by g(-3)
That just means you plug in -3 to the equations you have, SO:

f(x) = 6(-3) + 8 / g(x)= -3 - 2
f(x) = -18 + 8 / g(x) = -5
f(x) = -10

-10/-5 = 2 , because 2 negatives equals a positive
