x + y = -7
x-y = 14
2x = 7
x = 3.5
y= -10.5
The answer is 3.5 and -10.5. Since -10.5 plus 3.5 is -7 and 3.5 - - 10.5 or 3.5 + 10.5 is 14.

the difffernece is 14 so the distance is 14
one is negative and one is positive
x+y=-7
x-y=14
add them
2x+0y=7
x=3.5
sub back
x+y=-7
3.5+y=-7
y=-10.5
the numbres are 3.5 and -10.5
