How do I solve 4(8x +4) = 176

It might seem hard, but you will eventually get the hang of it, but i will give you a guide.

4(8x+4) = 176
The first step, would be to multiply 4 to both the numbers inside the pharanteses.

like this:

4*8x+4*4 = 176
32x+16=176

Then, to move 16 to the other side of the equal sign, you have to subtract 16 to both sides. ( This is still legal, as the sum on both sides, would still be the same)

32x + 16 - 16 = 176 - 16 (Note: The sign has changed, because we subtracted on both sides.)

32x = 160

To get x, we can divide both sides on 32 :)

32x/32 = 160/32
x = 5

The answer is: x = 5 :)
