All of these works were written with the intention of passing on important advice or instructions to readers. Choose the two works that you find to be the most effective in conveying their message. An example of the traditional essay is “If” by Rudyard Kipling. In the text, the author tries to convince the son to do the right thing in order to become a man. The text is effective because it provides concrete and personal examples. It also reaches out to a general audience.
