The correct answer is social position.

Social position is the position of an individual in a given society or culture. Social position influences social status.

Social positions are established based on one person's:

- occupation ( doctor, lecturer, researcher, writer ),

- profession ( membership of organizations and associations ),

- family ( sibling, cousin of somebody etc. ),

- hobby ( membership of clubs and associations ).

Social positions can be visible (uniform-policeman ) or hidden (non-visible).

In order to obtain a certain position an individual has to have a career ( a sequence of positions ).

Social position determines the individual's place in the society. It also determines the individual's rights and duties associated with their specific place in the society.
