44 because you do 5.5*5.5 and that equals 30.25 and then combine the 2 triangles to make a rectangle and do 2.5*5.5=13.75. When you add 30.25+13.75=44 cm.

44 is the answer do the altitude times the base and to get the base add the two numbers so do 5.5(2.5+5.5).
