The Indus Valley was South Asia's first major civilization. It was based around the two major cities of Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro.Due to the river system, the region was capable of supporting large agricultural populations and had a developed irrigation and sewage system. The irrigation helped subdue monsoon floods.Bathrooms were linked to a city-wide sewage system.
