Why is Zurbaran sometimes called the "Spanish Caravaggio"?

Zurbaran was sometimes called the "Spanish Caravaggio'' because although it was unclear whether he copied the man's works directly, although his use of chiaroscuro takes a similarly realistic approach.

he is most famous for his paintings of nuns and monks. he was such a good painter that he was nicknamed "spainsh caravaggio"
