Outlining a speech involves deciding on a claim (the primary point) to guide the speech, doing some research to find evidence that supports such claim, as well as to identify which evidence best supports it, organizing the key structural elements such as introduction, body, conclusion, stories and high-level concepts, etc.
After crafting the speech, the next step is to practice giving the speech, this is important because through this rehearsal, the speaker can test what best works for him/her, learn from the experience, make changes in the speech if necessary, find out how much does it take him/her to present the topics and manage the time accordingly, discover their best pace and tone of voice to give the information, etc.
