Medroxyprogesterone’s common side effects are breast tenderness or discharge, changes in menstrual period, vaginal itching and/or discharge. Povera may also increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, pulmonary emboli, and stroke for postmenopausal women. Povera, or medroxyprogesterone is used as contraception and is a form of female hormone progesterone.
