What effect does the North Atlantic Current have on Norway? It creates valuable oil deposits. It drives fish out of the area. It causes increased precipitation. It makes the area warmer.

The correct answers are:

- It causes increased precipitation;

- It makes the area warmer;

The North Atlantic Current is an ocean current that is just the prolongation of the Gulf Current. This current is warm, and it brings warmer and wet air masses with it. Because of that, the western part of Norway, or rather the western coastal part of Norway, is much warmer than what would be expected for its location. The climate is much more moderate, and the extremes in the temperatures are significantly reduced. Also, this current makes the western coastal part of Norway much more rainy, as it bring in a lot of precipitation with it.
