Explanation:

Lets find x-intercept:

for y substitute 0

4x+0=12x-1

subtract 4x both sides

0=8x-1

add 1 both sides

1=8x

divide 8 both sides


(1)/(8)=x

lets find y-intercept:

for x substitute 0

4(0)+y=12(0)-1

multiply 4(0) and 12(0) which would equal 0 in this case, you dont have to write the 0s.

y=-1
