Answer: c. Harvesting practices that do not reduce the potential for future harvests.

The aquatic environment is the home of several species of fish and invertebrates which are commonly consumed by the human population. The fishing is done on large commercial scale to meet the food requirements of the increasing human populations. The sustainable fishing is a practice which aims to secure the edible aquatic organisms so that they remain available to meet the food requirements of the future human population, also aims that no aquatic species should be decreased to a number which can lead to it's extinction.

According to the above information, Harvesting practices that do not reduce the potential for future harvests is the statement which defines sustainable fishing practices.
