Each day Sheila doubles the number of pushups she did the day before. On the fifth day, she does 2×2×2×2×2 pushups. Use an exponent to write the number of pushups shelia does on the fifth day?

The general equation for this is an exponential growth equation...

p(t)=2*2^(d-1) so on the fifth day

p(5)=2*2^5

p(5)=2*32

p(5)=64 pushups

The answer would be 2^5.
2 to the power of 5.
Step-by-step explanation:
Exponents are tricky , you're not multiplying 2 by 5 , which is 10 . Nope . You're multiplying 2 ( 5 times ) . Sheila does 2x2x2x2x2 push-ups (32) . The answer is 2 to the power of five because you're multiplying 2 , five times. Which means that she did 32 push-ups.
Hope it helps!
