Asexual reproduction has zero genetic diversity. Mitosis has the sole purpose of generating two daughter cells exactly like the parent, such as in blood.

Sexual reproduction creates genetic variation in multiple ways. Crossing over, independent assortment, and other things allow for a much more genetically diverse group of 4 haploid daughter cells.
