1) Here, we want to find the slope of the line

Mathematically, we have to select two points that lie on the line, then we apply the slope formula

The two points we are selecting are (-4,3) and (-2,4)

We proceed with the formula as follows;


\begin{gathered} m\text{ = }(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1) \\ \\ (x_1,y_1)\text{ = (-4,3)} \\ (x_2,y_2)\text{ = (-2,4)} \\ \\ m\text{ = }(4-3)/(-2-(-4))\text{ =}(1)/(2)\text{ = 0.5} \end{gathered}

2) Here, we want to get the y-intercept

Mathematically, this is the point at which the line crosses the y-axis

We have this point as y = 5

3) Here, we want to write the equation of the line in the prescribed form
