How do I do this if when I try the coordinates are on the same line

Although they are on the same line they do not land on the same point so you would just put a line and the two points.

To plot (3, 7) go to the origin, and count 3 units to the right. After you've done that go up 7 units; that should give you where the point is. For the second one (3, 1), go to the origin, count 3 units to the right, and one unit up. That is gonna be where the second point is. After all of this is done connect the dots and you have a line.
