the first phase of mitosis is - prophase
description -
1)chromosome become Distinct
2)sister chromatids attached to each other at a small region called centromere.
3)spindle fibres appear between daughter centrioles.
4)nuclear member and nucleolous disappears

in mitosis 1 , the first stage is known as prophase..
chromatin material starts condensing into thread-like chromosomes
in this stage spindle fibres form from the opposite poles
the nuclear envelope disappears
nucleolus disappears
