So, to solve this, we won't worry about the absolute value first. We will multiply both sides by 2. 3x+4=20. Then we will subtract 4 from each side. 3x=16. Then we will divide both side by three. 16/3. Absolute value means that the number inside the brackets will always be positive. So x is greater than 16/3 or less than -16/3
