Look at the number in () on your question then look at conditions on the right column
Zero is not greater than 3 so don't put it in the 2x
Next one zero is in between 0<_x<-3 yes so put it on the left equation just has X that's why answer is zero
#9. -5 fits on which statements on the right it fits the last one X<0 so put it on the equation on the left X-1 so -5-1=-6
