First, solve for the left side.

8 * 12 = 96.

1/4 of 8 = 2

-2x + 96 > 82

Subtract 96 from both sides.

-2x > -14

Divide by -2, and since you are dividing both sides by a negative the sign flips.

Your answer:
x < 7
