I assume the answer you're looking for is C- compositing, referring to the lightsaber fights. The saber part itself was basically this rod with reflective tape and then the color was laid over it. So it's compositing but not the traditional large amount of it.

Star Wars also has a history of go-motion and puppetry, just not really in battle scenes.
