the whiskey rebellion started when government passed a law stating that no one could drink or sell whiskey. But that was a lot of peoples main source of money so they rebelled until the government revoked the law.

The Government wanted to tax whiskey, but the people weren't happy about it and rebelled (also refusing to pay the tax)
