So to find this out you have to find what x and y equal. To find that, you do 2 x 1= 2, so x = 2. To find y, you have to do 3 x 2= 6, so y=6. Now add 6 + 2 and you get 8

Simplifying
2x + -3y = 8
Solving
2x + -3y = 8
Solving for variable 'x'.
Move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right.
Add '3y' to each side of the equation.
2x + -3y + 3y = 8 + 3y
Combine like terms: -3y + 3y = 0
2x + 0 = 8 + 3y
2x = 8 + 3y
Divide each side by '2'.
x = 4 + 1.5y
Simplifying
x = 4 + 1.5y
Hope this helps
