At a certain time of day, a 20-foot building casts a 4-foot shadow. How tall is a person who casts a 1-foot shadow?

A: 1/5 foot
B: 5 feet
C: 6 feet

The answer is B. It’s B because 20/4= 5. So since we divide to find the height difference of the building’s shadow we need to multiply to find the height of the person. 1x5 to get 5 :)

Scale factor = 5 because 20 divided by 4 is 5

1 x 5 = 5

The person is 5ft tall (B).
