How do I find the axis of Symmetry and Vertex for this?-example-1

To find the vertex you use the equation -b/2a which is 4/2(-1). Therefore the axis of symmetry is -2. To find the vertex of the equation you just plug in the value you got for the axis of symmetry into the equation which should give you y=5. So your vertex is (-2,5).
