In a survey of 100 students it is shown that 40 students have season football tickets, 30 students have basketball season tickets, and 20 students have both football and basketball season tickets. How many students have NEITHER basketball NOR football season tickets?

Answer: 50

Step-by-step explanation: The solution is 50.

n(D U M) = n(D) + n(M) - n(D ∩ M)

= 50 students

Therefore, there are 50 students left that do not have tickets to either sport.
