Why are plant cells square, when animal cells are round?

because plant cells have a cell wall and animals don't, the cell wall makes them look like they're square but they're really rectangular

Plant cells are not necessarily square, but they do tend to have distinct edges and be somewhat rectangular. This structure is caused by the cell wall which is very rigid and therefore forces the cell to have a defined shape.
