How do you round 0.3875 to the nearest tenth?

it would be 0.4

nearest tenth is the first place after the decimal. 3 is on the tenth place, 8 is on the hundredth place, 7 is on the thousandth place, and so on. Round the tenths place up if the hundredths place is 5 or more.

(if it was less than 5, we would under estimate)

answer: 0.4

nearest tenth is the first place after the decimal so the 3
the digit after the 3 is 8, so we overestimate since it's equal to or more than 5 (if it was less than 5, we would under estimate) and so the answer is 0.4
