PYTHAGOREAN THEOREM: hummingbird's nest is 9 meters high in a tree and a flower is on the ground 12 meters away from the base of the tree. How far will the hummingbird need to fly to get from its nest to the flower?

The Pythagorean theorem is a squared plus b squared equals c squared.
So 9 is a, 12 is b, and c is unknown.
9^2+12^2=c^2 (By the way if you didn't know this ^2 means squared.
81+144=c^2
225=c^2
15=c because 225 is a perfect square (It is 15 squared)
