To multiply by a second variable, use the * symbol. For example: 5abcb can be rewritten as 5abc * b.

Set the equation equal to y

Add x to each side
7y=14 +x

Divide each side by 7
y=2 + x

The slope is whatever number corresponds with the variable x

In this case there is no number in front of the x which indicates that the slope is 1
