From the given picture the surface area of square pyramid = Area of square+Area of 4 triangles.

Area of square =
side^2=7^2=49\ cm^2

For triangles, base of triangle b=7 cm

Height of triangle= 9 cm

Area of one triangle=
(1)/(2)bh=(1)/(2)(7)(9)=(63)/(2)\ cm^2

Now, Area of 4 triangles =
4*(63)/(2)=126\ cm^2

Area of square pyramid =Area of square+Area of 4 triangles.


=49\ cm^2+126\cm^2=175\ cm^2
