National Progressive (also know as the Bull Moose Party)

Roosevelt was not chosen as the Republican nominee after conflict with party leaders.

He proclaimed himself "fit as a bull moose" and launched his third-party bid.

Another great example is 1968 - George Wallace and the American Independent Party.

The correct answer is B) National Progressive.

One example of how third parties can thrive and grow in one election and fade away by the next is evident when considering how Theodore Roosevelt’s National Progressive party faded back into the Republican party.

Theodore Roosevelt’s formed the National Progressive party in 1912. He did not like the idea of losing the presidential nomination for the Republican Party. The Republican Party had nominated William Taft. The new Progressive party supported populist reforms to attract new people that helped to maintain the party. But after the1912 election, the Progressive Party, also known as the "Bull Moose Party," lost popularity and finally disappeared in 1920.
