One critic has observed that part of macbeth’s tragedy is the fact that many of his strengths are also his weaknesses. explain this apparent contradiction in macbeth’s character. what are his strengths? which ones also work against him?

These are the three strengths and weaknesses of Macbeth in the play by Shakespeare: bravery, ambition, and self-doubt. He is a fine leader of the troupes, he is brave in going to his battles, but his bravery is fueled by his ambition to become king which was predicted by elders. This leads to self-doubt every time he loses his battles.
