Why are many fossils remains left from the last ice age (A) freezing slowed down their decay . (B) tar slowed down their decay . (C) tree sap slowed down their decay . (B) hard minerals slowed down their decay .

Technically each of these choices can be true, but the most common explanation is that hard minerals slowed their decay (I think you meant to say choice D for that). The reasoning behind this is that the majority of fossils have been preserved in layers of rock or mineral over a long period of time.
