Consider the system of equations: 3x+4y=67 and 5x-y=35 Edmundo used the multiplication property of equality so that the y-terms would be eliminated when the equations were added. What was the resulting equation?

3x+4y=67
5x-y=35

we will use multiplication property and multiply by 4 to the second equation
3x+4y=67
20x-4y=35x4

now add them
23x=67+35x4
23x=67+ 140
23x= 207
x=207/23
x=9
and you can find y
