Describe the life of a damselfly

Life Span. The life span of damselflies varies between species and within species depending on environmental factors. After one to three weeks, the eggs, laid in water, usually hatch, releasing the larvae or nymphs, but eggs laid in late summer may overwinter before hatching.

Dragonflies and damselflies have a fascinating life history. Most their life is spent underwater, first as an egg and then as a larva (or nymph) and they have a comparatively short adult life, being "on the wing" for a few weeks only.

Hope this helps :)
