One brand of granola sells for $0.37 per ounce. Kristin bought a box of granola for $4.39. Which equation would determine the weight, w, of the granola in ounces?

Your equation needs to be based on money, and how much it costs to buy x number of ounces of the granola at the given price. .37x = 4.39 is your equation which asks how many ounces of granola did Kristin get if she paid 37 cents per ounce and spent a total of 4.39. Solve the equation for x. Divide both sides by .37
