2x + 3 > -7
2x +3 -3 > -7 +3
2x > -4
x> -2

Solve this just like you would an equation. Move the 3 over to the other side by subtraction to get 2x>-10. Now divide both sides by 2 to get x>-5. That's as simple as it gets!
