Estimated mean diameter of the 53 oranges = 50mm

Explanation:

To find the estimated mean diameter one would find the mean of the selected sample of the total population

Since the 8 samples are selected at random from a population of 53 oranges

Estimated mean diameter = (45+46+42+53+60+49+54+51)/8

= 400/8

= 50mm

Estimated mean diameter of the 53 oranges = 50mm
