B) -4x-3y=-18 Multiplying B) by .75
B) -3x -2.25y= -13.5 then adding this to A
A) 3x + 4y = 17
1.75y = 3.5
y = 2

A) 3x + 4*2 = 17

3x + 8 = 17
3x = 9
x = 3
