What role in the world did bismarck envisage for the new germany after 1871? how successful was he in carrying out his vision? was he wise to tie germany to austria-hungary?

He wanted to establish a great united german nation as a superpower the way france, england, and austro hungarian were. Bismarck's relation ship with the Austria was difficult at best, because the austrian emperors saw the rise of germany as a threat. He believed strongly that it was possible to keep peace by having  as many international treaties as possible.
